We started Down the Block, Inc. after hearing stories that deeply concerned us - stories of families right here in Millburn Township who are struggling financially to such an extent that their most basic needs - food, shelter, medical care, electricity, heat, etc. - could not be met. We felt that this shouldn't be the case, especially here. Here in our town, we were sure, resides enough compassion to allow us to care for our own.

To assure that your donation goes to those Millburn Township residents in need, we give each application careful review. Once an applicant's claim is verified and deemed eligible, we provide payment directly to the provider of the goods or service needed. For example, should a neighbor require a new water heater, payment will be made directly to the plumber. In that way, we can be assured that your donation is used to help our neighbors meet their most pressing needs.

And so we're looking to each of our fellow Millburn Township residents to join us in caring for that family in need who lives down the block from you.
